Midfielder Granit Xhaka will make his first Arsenal appearance since October after being named in the starting XI for Thursday’s Europa League tie against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Xhaka was stripped of the captaincy after reacting angrily to jeers from Gunners fans while being substituted during a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old explained his emotional response in a statement.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is seeking a first win in six games.
The Gunners, who are top of Group F, will qualify for the Europa League last 32 with a draw against the German side.
They will go through regardless of the outcome at Emirates Stadium if Standard Liege lose their match against Vitoria Guimaraes.
